Fields

EmptyChain = 1

No chain links were supplied.

Failed = 9

Verification failed but no more specific category could be assigned safely.

ForkedChain = 6

Multiple links claim the same sequence or conflicting predecessor.

HashMismatch = 5

A link does not point to the previous link hash.

MissingAnchor = 11

A required verification input was not supplied, so the chain could not be anchored to anything.

MissingRecord = 2

A required sequence number was missing.

ModifiedRecord = 4

A link's persisted hash no longer matches its canonical fields.

ReorderedRecord = 3

Links were supplied out of sequence.

TruncatedChain = 10

The supplied links form a consistent chain that does not reach the expected tip.

Any prefix of a valid chain is itself internally consistent, so a caller that needs to establish it holds the whole chain must supply the expected tip link hash or sequence. Without one of those inputs, truncation is undetectable.

Unspecified = 0

No verification category was assigned.

Zero is a rejected sentinel so that a default-constructed value, or a persisted column that yields zero for unrecognized input, cannot mean "valid".

UnsupportedAlgorithm = 8

A link uses an unsupported hash algorithm.

Valid = 12

The chain verified successfully.

WrongChain = 7

A link belongs to a different chain than expected.
